your favorite highend restaurants in august
      #137158 - 07/18/08 05:53 PM

We are headed back to the island in august for our 3rd year. I know a lot of places are closed in the summer, just read about carl gustav. Any suggestions for alternatives? we like la serrina and le tony?
thanks

Does Andy's, Eden Rock, or Kafe' Massai (sp?) ever close? I was wondering about a late September, Hurrican season trip.
Thanks

Le Tamrin, Le Sapotillier, Le Gaiac, Top of the Rock and Maya's should fill the bill for higher end restos.

The hotels may be, but many of the restos close in September. Have to check when you are on the island.

Le Gaiac for sure!! I had a horrible meal last year in Carl Gustaf!! We could not believe it!! I think they are'nt open this summer..I could be wrong.

Definately go to the Le Toiny and dine there!

Have fun!

Carl Gustaf is definitely not open this summer. Both hotel and restaurant are closed for renovations. They basically tore down the main building and are in the process right now of rebuilding. Yesterday we drove by and all that's there is a shell of re-bar and concrete. Pretty ugly.
