We are looking at St. Barts this summer after many trips to St. Martin and Anguilla. I have been looking at villas online, but it is hard to determine if they will meet our needs. So any help is really appreciated! Specifically I am looking for a villa that has a king master but most importantly the second room next to the master under the same roof. Can't be a pod situation. I would prefer it to not have outside access, but can get over that if it is under one roof more like a typical house.
Also need a pool, ocean view, a/c in bedrooms, safe area, and under $3,500 a week low season.
Thanks so much for your help!

How old are the children? I suggest that you work with one (or more) of the agencies because you have very specific requirements. Many two-bedroom villas are designed to fulfill the privacy needs of two couples so the bedrooms are separated. You might have better luck with a three or four bedroom villa at a two-bedroom rate--more space & different positioning of bedrooms. I can't think of a particular villa that has the layout you prefer but I'm confident you will have choices in your price range----the agencies will be a huge help. Also, you may get suggestions from forum members who have visited with children.
I know your family will love St. Barth's!

The kids are 6 & 8. I can see my 6 year old going to the pool out of sliders at 6am if I can't hear him. His sister sleeps like a rock and won't be much help! I am going to contact Wimco and I know they tour most of these properties, but I always prefer first hand from someone who stayed at the villa. Oh and I agree about the larger villas being a better possibility with regards to the room set up. We have always found that true on the other islands we visited.
Thanks so much for your help!

St. Barth requires all pools to have either a fence around them or an alert system which triggers an alarm when someone hits the water or a pool cover. The alarm system must be turned on and the villa agencies will give you instructions. When you get some suggestions from WIMCO, give us a list & chances are someone will have information for you. Your kids are great ages for St. Barth's. See my post on Bringing the Kids in the Newbie Info forum. Definitely treat them to the Shell Museum.

Wimco Villa HCH would fit your needs, if available. It is a four bedroom, but they are grouped two together. One wing has a queen bedroom and a bedroom with two twins. This is down a hall off the main kitchen greatroom. The other wing has two king size rooms. It has a killer pool and unbeatable views.

We also traveled with our two kids (5 & 7, now 10 & 12) with similar concerns. The pool is very large. SIB DOR (wimco) meets your requirements because we could lock the outside door and the two bedrooms were under the same locked roof. The master has a Queen bed; the children had to sleep in the same bed, if I remember correctly. The children's bedroom did not have outside access. We felt very comfortable here from a security standpoint. It is near Le Ti but we never hear any noise. Each bedroom has its own bathroom. There is another villa in Mont Jean that was lovely as well but was significantly more expensive.

Villa Playa Dorada from St Barths properties. Two bedrooms downstairs. Three upstairs. One of the upstairs rooms is a HUGE master. The other two bedrooms get progressively smaller and all share one bath. The two downstairs each have their own bath. No pool only a jacuzzi with a cover and you are on the beach. The doors can be locked and I believe the sliders have keys that can be removed to prevent your child from opening in the morning. There is a small grassy area between the villa and the beach so there is room to play. It has an open living space and is right on St Jean, a great beach for kids, close to Gustavia and the Match across fro the airport. I think it's perfect. There is also satellite TV on a big screen and gets a few US channels (I think including disney) that may help occupy your children for a rainy half hour. CD player and DVD are there too.
-------------------- If it's stupid but works, it isn't stupid.

I forgot to mention, you may know already, even though it is a five bedroom it can be rented for the price of three, two, four etc provided a maximum of two people are sleeping in one room. Just call or email your needs. Using their website to find pricing is just as easy. it lists the price per amount of rooms desired. And no, nobody else can rent another room that is not in your party while you are there.
P.S. The picture on the SB Properties website is pretty accurate asid from the fact that the TV is larger now.

We just returned this Saturday and stayed in SIB LED for 5 of our 10 nights. The villa might be perfect for your situation. Both bedrooms are under 1 roof and the bedrooms and main living area have a/c. It is a little small--but most of the living is done outdoors. Under the Pergola at night was fantastic and it has a view that is incredible--especially when you walk up the steps to the sitting area that overlooks Gustavia. Send me a PM if you'd like more information.
