Hi - We are trying to decide between SIB DEN (columbier) and SIB BBK(Lurin). Have stayed in SIB CLO in columbier and love the area. Not familiar with Lurin. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

We've stayed at BBK 2 times and it is a great villa at $2600. But, I think you can find better for less than $3100.
We looked at DEN a couple of years ago when we were on the island. We thought the living quarters were great. The view was okay, but the pool was too small for us and we were uncomfortable with the caretaker living right below us and sharing the driveway.

we have stayed in both....BBK was very charming but it was HOT very little breezes..we ran into a couple at the airport recently who stayed there and referred to it as a "honeymoon villa"..... DEN is a very comfortable house with good views and breezes... (in all the times that we stayed there we did not see the caretaker)..... .friends of ours have rented for 12 years in March and have never mentioned a caretaker problem...after staying in Vitet for the last 4 years we are trying DEN again in July.....and will update...for another islland experience try villa SLB in Vitet

Hi - thanks for your reply. We are trying to book something under 3500 in august and our options are pretty limited. Most of our top picks are unavailable. DEN and BBK are the best of the available ones I think. Would you mind answering a few more questions since you have actually laid eyes on the places?
BBK: Did you get decent breezes? Is there any road noise? Privacy? Is the airport view ok? DEN: Other than the caretaker :( is it private from the road and any same level villas? I can see the villas below and gustavia so I anticipate more of a city scene but am hoping that I don't look to the left and see my neighbors on their deck!
Thanks much for your help. We are returning to St. Barth. Stayed in Sib CLO last year and love Columbier.

BBK is very secluded..for that matter just getting up the driveway to the villa is a trick...there were no breezes when we were there... a great advantage...you are close to Sante Fe restaurant DEN is also peivate and at the end of a private road...we did not see any other houses...the other advantage is a "short walk" up the hill to Petite Columier for freash bread and pastries.....the view if of the working part of the harbor is fun to watch from afar all of the activity.... and in August you have a ringside view of the parties on the dock...... hope this helps

Soybeans,
How did you like SLB? We're staying there for 1/2 of our trip this June.
By the way---I don't think you would be disappointed with either BBK or DEN. Both are nice villas.

we loved SLB and plan to return in December....have rented the Villa about 7 times...and you get an added treat if you are up early..you can see Tim cycle on his return to Vitet...and wonder how can he peddle up when we can't walk up these steep hills of ST.Barts

We just recently returned from paradise. We were there for 10 days and divided the time between 2 villas. It literally felt like 2 vacations! It was great!
We used to stay almost exclusively with BBK until the price went up, so we were convinced we could do better and we did!
We stayed at SLB and LED . . . we loved the distinct ambiance of both!
LED has an amazing walk up perch/patio that has a fantastic view, especially at night. It feels like the stars are on top of you! The pool is great and has a beautiful surrounding deck and gazebo-like area. It is a great value!
SLB is very romantic and beautiful! The sunsets and ocean views are beautiful! The layout of the villa is very elegant! The mosquitos were a bit of a problem, but always take lots of spray!
I sincerely hope you look at both! They are great values compared to BBK.
Happy times in paradise! Don't foget the rum!

Please let us know how it is. Drove by DEN yesterday and it looks great. Breezes should be great and no apparent construction. Today is my last day after 21 days at Lumiere. Breezes have been wonderful and no bugs at night. just mornings and not nearly as bad as BBK. Last year I bought a commercial bug zapper for BBK. don't know if it got thrown away but it caught so many bugs each night that the lizards thought I was serving them a buffet each morning.

Soybeaans,
I think my wife and I were the ones that met you and you wife at SBH departing to SXM a few years back. We did get a chance to stay at SLB this year and really enjoyed it--however, the bugs and mosquito's were difficult to deal with. Overall a good value.
