I'm wondering if anyone is interested in doing a photo expedition, or two, in early June. Tentative plans exist, with a few other shooters, for a trip to Natural Pools. I'd also be open to any other locations people have an interest in.
I'm certainly not an expert in digital cameras, but I'd be glad to offer any pointers I can, especially concerning composition and exposure choices. I will have a tripod, which can be shared, and filters (which may, or may not fit your lenses. If you know your filter size, I may have adapters- let me know and I'll check).
Of course, my "expertise" is offered free of charge, but a cold Carib, afterwards will not be refused. :-}

Missy,
That would have been fun. You should have stayed with your original dates. :-}
I like shooting with other photographers. There's an intensity that's reached when exploring a subject with others. I used to go out with some Large Format friends, around here. We'd talk "shop" while setting up our tripods. We'd meet up, a few weeks later, to compare our results. It was amazing how different our work looked. Even though we were photographing the same area, the results looked completely different. There was one shooting 8x10 negatives, for platinum printing. The rest of us were shooting 5x7, or (mostly) 4x5. I learned a lot on those trips.
I think it's even more advantageous for digital shooters. You'll end up shooting less, but getting better results. Talking about your intentions, with others, will help you focus (no pun intended) on achieving the images you want.

Eddie,
If you want to hike a bit, I'll join you some days when you're here for some exploring.

OK, but you first have to wait, for about 10 months, while I claim I'm not going to sbh in 2009.... LOL

Eddie,
If this haze doesn't blow away from St. Barth, all of our photo opportunities are going to be limited. Even though there's a nice breeze, it's been sitting on us for several days now.
P.S. I too am on the 5:05 PM Winair on the 29th.
