Colorado has had big dumps, also. Over the weekend they couldn't reopen I-70 for several hours till they did avalanche abatement! Beaver Creek had 92 inches in December, three feet above average and the most since 1996.

That's a dusting by western standards MIke. How about a little insight into our next trip into the unknown? Karen and I are giving serious thought to a week in Wolf Creek this March. What can you tell us?

I know its a dusting by western standards...believe me - I know...and as I look out my window this moment and see rain falling on top of all this beautiful snow this morning ( my Outdoor Ed class today is suppose to ski....ugh )....I am reminded I am indeed no longer out west.....be that as it may...life goes on
Wolf Creek in my opinion is one of the two best ski mountains in Colorado....A Basin being the other......its ol school no frills skiing in the steepest terrain and the deepest powder.....sorry to say you wont be able to get a Latte or Sushi or a couples massage there.....but the skiing is pure bliss...especially in March
look at Elkwood Manor and Canyon Crest for lodging In Pagosa Springs...thats where I have stayed and they are very nice

Thanks for the tip Mike.
Here's one from my New Hampshire wife Karen. First it snows, then it rains and then you have ice. So sharpen up those edges like razors, the best skiers train on NH ice.
