I guess now that A-basin has snowmaking, they have the edge because they have even higher terrain and colder temperatures. Not sure winning the first-to-open race is a good thing. I just checked their site and see that they will be putting in a new lift and opening up a huge new bowl on the other side of high lift. That's delicious-looking terrain but you used to have to hike back to sample it. Not sure doubling the size of the ski area is a good thing either but, if I find myself in Colorado this season, I'm sure I'll give it a try. I guess the old A-basin is moving toward the mainstream.
