Other than St. Barth Commuter and Winair does anyone know of other airlines that will offer roundtrip flights? Will Air Caraibe still be in existence and does anyone know whether Air Antilles Express will be servicing this route? Thank you

Who knows. Winair is struggling for breath now and recent articles indicate it is cash starved. However, in the many years I have been going to SXM/SBH, Winair has always been in trouble and seems to survive every year. Air Caraibes doesn't seem to have the same problems and SB Commuter may pick up the slack and add more planes/flights.

abc,
I bought an SBC round trip ticket yesterday for my October journey, cost 130 Euros. They're the most dependable and by far the cheapest, so I see no reason not to work your schedule around their availability, but I would make my reservations right now.

With the prices Winair charges, how can they be cash starved? SBC seems to manage quite nicely with the money they get....

Mon ami,
I concur. I've read that Winair gets 40% of its revenue flying SXM/SBH even though they serve 8 other islands. Guess which ticket costs the most, and now they're talking about raising it even more. SBC is 130 Euros round trip, the Rapid Ex around 65 round trip. I believe Winair is truly testing the limits of its passengers with these new rates.

i understand that Caribe air is no longer flying...if that is the case we will be at the total mercy of Winair..."and we know how accomodating they can be"

Air Caraibes did have a partial interruption in service in June, during which time many of their passengers were flown by Winair. Air Caraibes, as far as I know, is back in full operation as of early July.

Kevin,
A/C seemed to be in full operation as of two days ago when I was last at the airport.

I think they know exactly what they are doing.....they know that no matter what, wealthy high maintenance people will do whatever to get where they need to get to and not care one bit about the cost..especially if its St Barts......and we all know that is true...its only people on budgets who will be effected by these prices and for them there are plenty of other viable options....so if WinAir "culls" out the the middle class and budget traveler and only services the people who dont care what it costs to get there....voila...they' ve just successfully captured the market they want (sort of like ethinic cleansing but only on a fiscal level ) and are now operating with VERY healthy margins...just like Vail and Aspen are doing with 100 dollar lift tickets....take a wild guess as to who is buying them, and who isnt???>..LOL..something like this is done all the time in tourists destinations.......its 50 bucks to ferry to P Town......300 to fly ....gee....who do you think is flying and who do you think is ferrying????....
they know exactly what they doing....testing the market and looking for that sweet spot in terms of price resistance...
and now excuse me but I have a sold out trip with a wait list to deal with tonight.....at 60 bucks a head ( it was 35 bucks a head 2 years ago....sound familiar?)
