If this is July 1st, can our trip be far behind? Thanks to you all for the great trip reports and island news updates. Phil62 and I head down on the 7th and you all helped me survive those "between trip blues". On this trip we will be introducing our eldest son and his wife-Gary and Lisa- to our favorite island. (Time to pass the baton on to that next generation). Can't wait to land, see Rosita's smiling face, brew that St Barths blend, grab a good book and hit the beach. Hope to meet many new onliners at our sunset party scheduled for July 22nd at the fabulous new villa Emmanuel and to share and toast the magic that is St Barths with them.

Will some of you July travellers please check out the current situation with service on Air Caraibes and report back to us? We've heard several conflicting reports. Merci en avance!

I will see what I can find out. However, I will have the absolute pleasure of flying WinAir this time.
On the bright side, I've already told my secretary to not even try to reach me for the trip (unless it is truly urgent, and luckily she knows the difference between "this person claims it is urgent" and "this really is urgent.") To digress slightly -- one reason that St. Barth is better than Maui is because when clients call you very early in the morning, it is 10:00 a.m. St. Barth time, as opposed to Maui where they tend to call around 5:00 a.m.
Somewhat off topic: Since my wife and I are only staying four nights, we are seriously thinking of trying to pack carry-on only. What are the rules for things like sunscreen? If I go only carry on, am I going to have problems taking a few bottles of sunscreen?
Also, for dinners we are set for one night (our 10th Anniv) at Sapotillier (although they haven't yet responded to our e-mail request for a reservation), and at least one night at Isle de Case. The night before we fly home we usually don't have a big dinner, so that leaves one good/great meal. We really enjoyed Maya's our last trip, and are considering going there. Any other suggestions? We chose St. Barth largely because of the food, so we are looking for a place that will knock us out.

Skeeter, Le Sapotillier is a great choice for your special dinner I would call them at +590 590 27 60 28 to ensure you get your table.
Other great places are Top of the Rock at Eden Rock and Le Tamarin.
On the bottles, all liquids must be in 3 oz. or less containers and all must fit into a one-quart bag to get by TSA screening. See this site for more info http://www.tsa.dhs.gov/311/index.shtm
