June - too soon
July - stand by
August - it must
September - remember
October - it's over
Of course, not all hurricanes read the Mariner's Ditty or follow the usual calendar. Even so, we were told that this would be The Worst Hurricane Season In Recent, Remote And Fictionalized History due to The Acts Of Man.
Not trying to jinx anyone here - but, so far, so good. And we are entering the peak of the season according to the graph on the hurricane site.
Hopefully, all the Infallible Models that take into account "the horrific rise in the earth's temperature" are not that infallible.
Geez, that would be almost inconoclastic, wouldn't it? You know, the infallible temperature and weather models being wrong?
Oh well. Good luck to nos amis in the antilles. May this hurricane season continue as it has so far.

It is a worthy entry, no doubt. And I thank you for handing me the trollphy so quickly. Even so, there are several other trollerific threads going on in the dungeon even as we speak. Let us not deny those men their opportunity at "greatness".

Take the trophy but don't spend it too lavishly.

Wow. I am honored. This is like Master Po HANDING the pebble to the Gwasshoppah.

While I am thrilled and delighted that Master Po has handed me this pebble, one "uncomfortable truth" remains:
We were told that this would be The Armageddon Season of hurricanes due to our actions. So far, so good.
(Don't you just know that there are some folks doing Hurricane Dances in hopes of not having to spin away why Chicken Little didn't REALLY mean the sky was falling)

BTW: Just checked the area called "Active Atlantic Storms" on the hurricane site and was relieved to see the word NONE!

keep in mind that the other ditty "red skies at night, sailors delight..red skies in the morning..sailors take warning" is the biggest load of irrelevant, inaccurate crap out there, before you go hanging your hat on the hurricane ditty....
if I ha a nickel for every "red skies in the morning" that turned out a beautiful day and "red skies at night" that kicked my ass soon after sunset..

The storm ditty and the comments about this year's Atlantic hurricane season are subject to Alexander Pope's admonition:
A little learning is a dangerous thing; Drink deep, or taste not the Pierian spring: There shallow draughts intoxicate the brain, And drinking largely sobers us again.
See elsewhere for a more sober discussion.

I dont put much stock into that ditty myself. I find the ditty "Red skies at night, oh ho, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh ho" to be far more useful. Props Fixx.

Sounds cool. Of course, a little food, a little music and one thing leads to another.
