Wilma is showing an interesting rise in intensity.

At 09:00 GMT on the 17th Wilma first became a tropical storm. Pressure 1000 mb.
At 09:00 GMT on the 18th Wilma was still a tropical storm. Pressure 982 mb.
At 09:00 GMT on the 19th Wilma is listed as a Category 5 Hurricane, with a reported (but unverified) central pressure of 884 milibars, the lowest ever recorded in the Atlantic.

the only redeeming thing so far is it isnt very wide...the radius of hurricane force winds are only 15 miles, compared to Katrina's 75 miles.....

You are so right Mike. And let's hope she stays that "small" and loops south of the state and off into the Atlantic and into oblivion.

Thanks to all of you that sent PM's and those keeping your fingers crossed for us. Once again we have dodged a bullet. PHEW! Yesterday was 90 with 100% humidity, right now it's 67 and the humidity is falling fast. Lot's of wind, lots of rain, but no real damage to speak of. Thank God for that cold front!
