Hi Eddie and Tim,
We were on the island for the last 2 weeks and met many people who would like to be included in a DC party. In fact, it is now becoming the MidAtlantic gathering. Paul and I would be happy to organize or help organize this. Our house and/or our restaurant seemed to be a good meeting place for both the NoVa and DC crowd plus the Philly group. NY/NJ are also within spitting distance, and even Midwest Mike and Nancy expressed an interest in flying in for the party, so this will be fun!
We have to wait for Lance and Libby to return, then we're away for a week in mid-March... I think we were talking about early April by the time we get on everybody's calendar. Saturday night it might be tough to squeeze everybody in at our restaurant but we could do a Sunday brunch-into-the-afternoon party there without a problem.
Can I get some feedback on dates in April that work for people? I know we can't please everyone but I'm happy to collect the data and help work out a good solution.
I'll post my trip report as soon as I can, I start a new job tomorrow (I was lured out of retirement with an offer I couldn't refuse) so it may take me a while to get my thoughts down. Suffice it to say it was fantastique... more later.
Send me your top two preferred dates and I'll get this rolling.

Hi Folks:
This thread shows the difficulties involved in setting a date - and location too. We elicited many different dates and locations, most of which did not match. So we decided to set the date out with two choices rather far in advance - Saturday April 26 or Saturday May 3 - and I think the fact that it was so far out (It was January at the time) caused most to lose interest. We are happy to continue the effort or follow another lead - our house in Rockville is still available. We're out in Mustique March 31 to May 7. We look forward to meeting those locals when possible. I wouldn't be surprised if we wind up with more than one get together over the coming months since some will likely be unavailable the first time and we'll want to include them. -Darin and Lucie

Whoops! Wishful thinking. It's not freudian, but quite a slip. We will be in Mustique March 31 to APRIL 7, not May 7. That's one of many reasons we suggested the get together at the end of April / beginning of May.

I'm not invited? Lynn mentioned a dinner/brunch when we saw her in Barts 3 weeks ago. KenT, Joe, me and I bet Theresa among others would go. If it's Maryland that's only 1 1/2 - 2 hours away. Brunch would be nice.

I have a show, in Richmond, the weekend of the 3rd. I'm on the waiting list, for Bethesda, the weekend of the 10th. I'm waiting on the jurying for a show on the 17th, and I'm in Harrisburg, PA, the weekend of the 24th.
For me, the weekend of the 10th would probably be best. If I don't get the call, from Bethesda, I'm available for brunch, or dinner. If I get the call, I could join dinner after the show closes. Or, I could send a limo to bring everyone to the show... :-}

They're in May. I could also blow off the show, the weekend of the 17th, if that weekend works for everyone. The way my shows have been going, I should probably blow off any of my shows, to get together with my target audience.... LOL

I had just returned from sbh, a few days before that show, so I actually spent your money before you gave it to me. It paid for a meal, with a friend, at Le Sapotillier, I think.

Okay, we could go on for months dickering about dates. Here's the deal, right now it looks like May 10th or 11th in Maryland, to accommodate Eddie. I can do brunch for everyone at our restaurant on Sunday May 11th, or we can have it on Saturday at either Darin & Lucie's or Skateboard Phil's. Can we get a final poll on May 10th or 11th?

Well, the 11th is out. Mother's Day is the busiest day of the year at our restaurant, so we can't do it there, and I'm sure people have to be with their families. So... We can't do it any weekend after that until the end of June, we'll be in Italy for 3 weeks. Eddie, I hate to say this, but the weekend of May 3rd seems to work for everyone but you. Maybe you can drop off some photos and we can show them in absentia?
Does May 3rd/4th work for everyone else?
