Wednesday May 1 is a holiday. Some shops will be closed (AMC, Super U). U Express and the two Monoprix groceries will be open.

Keep an eye on the Grocery stores. It appears that you’ll be good with U Express in Lorient and the Monoprix groceries. Restaurants will mostly be open, but like always, if you have that one restaurant that you want to go to, check with them directly and make a reservation. I have no clue on shops/boutiques.

It is also La Fete du Muguet.... Lilies of the Valley are bought or picked everywhere in France! Since the XVIth century it has been a good luck wish and a symbol of renewal...

Yes, I used to buy them at the grocery store for the maid. Also a nice bottle of Champagne.
