Snorkeling
Some of the best places to snorkel on SBH
Lorient beach - the best place to see sea turtles.
Colombier beach - about a 15 minutes hike from Flamands. Snorkel to the far right (when you are facing the ocean).
Petit de Anse - near Flamands (there are stone steps leading to the water) - a good place for turtles and parrotfish.
Forchue Island and other dive boat destinations - the best snorkeling
on SBH is actually not on the island - take a half day boat trip with
one of the island's dive companies to an underwater nature preserve
to experience the best snorkeling
Scuba Diving
Excellent dives can be had around St. Barts (but not from shore -- you'll need to book with one of the island's dive companies).
Expect to see sea turtles, barracudas, angel fish, eels, tarpoon fish, spiny lobsters and an amazing display of colorful coral.

For those who have never dived before, you can take a guided dive with a dive professional which is a fantastic experience that we would highly recommend
