CLOSED for sure Kevin. It seems the young Italian chef threw in the towel after just 3 weeks. He missed Italy and his mother too much and just went home.
I have this inside scoop from another island chef and host.

Yep, anyone can add a review, so get reviewing. It is free to the restaurants, so can include each and every one, not just those with a budget to advertise.
Andy, if you disaagree, feel free to go online an say so.
Not sure why John got that link, it goes to the page at a fixed point in time (I'll have to work that out), but here is the full one:

do you correct mistakes? someone noted in a review of Le Select that Jimmy Buffett wrote Cheeseburger in Paradise about it.. but Jimmy has noted that is not true... I think Eddy asked Jimmy if he could use the song title to name its restaurant...

Isn't technology wonderful!
Andy, they are made by people like you and I, the whole idea is that someone looking for a restaurant gets a range of opinions.
I would hope it also provides useful feedback to the restaurant.
I moderate the reviews just in case total nonesense is posted, which hasn't happened yet.

With regard to the name of the Le Select hamburger stand, Eddy's version of the story, as he has related it to me, is that there was a longstanding debate between Jimmy & Eddy as to who first used the name "Cheeseburger in Paradise" . . . Jimmy saying that Eddy usurped the song title for his start-up business, and Eddy maintaining that Jimmy got the title of his song from name of the restaurant. It was, of course, a friendly feud that was resolved a long time ago with an agreement to disagree . . . and Eddy magnanimously offering to provide free hamburgers for life to Jimmy.

They actually had a great pizza with mushrooms and truffles with truffle oil and IMHO one of the best pizzas on the Island.
Rumors spread very quickly and it depends to whom you talk to. Last I heard there was no permit for a resto so it was shut down. I was told there was enough money behind it to do well for years I and did see the chef at St Jean a few days after I ate there and he did not look too homesick.
They were doing a great business and on the night I was there they ran out of to-go boxes for the pizza.

St Jean, I just got back early this morning...I would have been home earlier but lightning held us up a little in CLT.
The few pics I post made it to FB since it does not require me to use a computer. I will try to post one or two now but they are pretty boring...
