The Hôtel Guanahani & Spa is a charming oasis of luxury nestled at the end of Grand Cul de Sac Bay overlooking Marigot Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. The hotel and spa are set on their own secluded 15-acre peninsula at the northeastern end of the island of St Barts and boasts two stunning beaches, one on a tranquil lagoon and the other at the edge of a coconut grove facing the ocean.

Hôtel Guanahani opened in 1986 with 58 rooms designed by Christian Liaigre, and then was expanded in 1993 with new bungalows and reception area by interior designer Michel Jouannet.

The hotel’s room configuration were reduced from 75 to 68 rooms (all equipped with LCD television screens and DVD players) in order to increase the number of suites, including a brand-new three-bedroom, ocean-view Pool Suite. Decorated with tropical French contemporary inspired furniture, La Villa features a private terra cotta tile patio, wood deck, and swimming pool, living room, and three bedrooms including a spacious master suite with king bed, large open shower, and freestanding whirlpool tub for two. Made in France, the “love tub” has a music system and lights that change color according to the sound.

The other guestrooms consist of 30 suites (14 with a private swimming pool), and 38 double rooms. All traditional rooms have renovated in a distinct Colonial style. WiFi connections will be available throughout the hotel and Reception will offer an enhanced welcoming area and a business center with three Internet work stations. The resort will have fully furnished “day room” for arriving and departing guests to use before and after their official arrivals.

Finally, the island’s first state-of-the-art, full-service spa -- The Guanahani Spa by Clarins at Hotel Guanahani -- opens December 15, 2004.
